Carlton Ware owl salt and pepper shakers

Bought from Ebay in 2008.

Bought from Ebay in 2008.

I also got these from the IOW Hospice shop in Ryde, I love the creepiness of them.

Bought from the IOW Hospice shop in Ryde, March 2009. It did actually smell of cheese when I bought it, how rank.

I got this from Ebay in 2008.

This was a present from Anna, she got it in a charity shop in Eastbourne last Monday and gave it to me last night. It has a faded print on the bottom but all I can make out is the word ‘pottery’.

A candle owl, which will remain un-used. A birthday present from Nick and Hilary.

Our own special bar, in our living room.

We bought a massive German living room unit thing and planter off Ebay, and when we went to pick them up, this cat was also there. The West German plant pots came from a car boot I think, Chris got them ages ago.
Paperchase Funny Food range – I got two melamine plates, and the mug.

Paperchase Owls front door mat and key cap

Decorating and furnishing the bedroom – we painted two walls dark brown and the rest will be white with horizontal curving stripes once we’ve done. Furniture-wise we got two massive white with mirrored sliding doors wardrobes from Ikea (Pax Malm, quite annoying to assemble) and I finally got a desk / dressing table that sits in between the wardrobes.
New dining table and chairs – we got four tulip chairs off Ebay, which are brand new replicas of the classic design. They are amazing!!
Vogue Body and Beauty book, published 1977 – found this in the IOW Hospice shop in Ryde. It’s a lovely book packed with good – and still very relevant – skincare, health and beauty advice, photos and diagrams. I was interested to see that in 1977 they recommended that you have a smear test every 6 months, and that lettuce should be used as a sedative if you were having problems sleeping. I got the Vogue Natural Health and Beauty book a while back from Amazon marketplace, but was unaware of the existence of this one, so it was a really nice little surprise.
Getting a namecheck from my lovely ex boss at the Beeb, that was a nice boost when feeling a bit wobbly: http://www.rebekahford.co.uk/workblog/#000027

This lonesome coffee pot was spotted in the window of Rowans Hospice charity shop on Marmion Road in Southsea in 2007, I made Chris go there first thing on a Monday morning to buy it for me. I also have a full tea set of this too, with the same bits and pieces as the owl one.
